In May 2018 our five Orange belt Aikidoka, Nick Ellis, Andrij Shestakow, Agata Stepcznska , Kryzs and Maciej Wojcik were all successful at their 3rd Kyu Green belt grading. Many congratulations due all round! Photos below show them in action.

Slough Centre Aikidoka were well represented at the IoA Winter School which this year was held at Spalding Aikido Club over the weekend of 24/5/26 March. Friday afternoon was devoted to Dan Gradings and Slough members Rob Dunford and Wayne Eveleigh both took succesful gradings, Rob being awarded his 2nd Dan and Wayne 1st Dan. One of our senior members, Ken Kidston, was awarded 4th Dan. Many congrats to them all! 

Over the weekend a number of high-grade IoA  Aikidoka took classes, including our Principal Sensei William Timms and Sensei John Kingsbury. A full report on the weekend, together with photos, is available on the IoA website.

Slough Aikidoka in action at Winter School

Slough Aikidoka visit The Hut Dojo:

On Monday 12 February Aikidoka from The Hut Dojo and Slough Centre Aikido Club gathered for a  special training session at The Hut in memory of the founder of the Institute of Aikido, Sensei Haydn Foster, who passed away 7 years ago.  In charge of the evening was Sensei Foster’s grandson, Sensei Paul Foster-Dent, who invited each Dan grade present to take a teaching spot. Also on the mat was Sensei William Timms of the Governing Board of the IoA. The session ended in the traditional way in the bar of The Hut Pub, where Sensei Foster himself had sunk many a refreshing pint with his students after training.
